Questions about check-ups
How often should I have a check-up?
For most people, every six months. If your mouth is healthy and stable we may suggest a longer interval, and if something needs watching, a shorter one. We'll tell you what we think is right for you, and why.
It's been years, will you judge me?
No. Many of our patients come to us after a long gap. We start with a conversation, work at your pace, and explain what we find without lectures.
Will I need X-rays?
Only when they show us something we can't see by looking. If we recommend an image, we explain what we're checking for before we take it.
Does a check-up hurt?
A check-up is an examination, so there's nothing to recover from afterwards. If anything ever feels uncomfortable, tell us and we stop.
