Restorative dentistry
Crowns & bridges that
look and last
When a tooth is cracked, worn or missing, a crown or bridge restores its strength and appearance, custom-made to blend in so no one can tell.

In plain language
What crowns and bridges actually are
A crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a weakened or damaged tooth, a bit like a helmet, protecting what's left while restoring its natural shape, strength and look.
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the healthy teeth (or implants) on either side of the gap. Both are crafted to match your own teeth in shape and colour.
Worth the visit
Why a small problem is worth addressing
A cracked, heavily filled or worn tooth tends to get worse over time, not better. Left alone, it can break, become infected, or be lost altogether, and a gap from a missing tooth lets the neighbouring teeth drift and your bite change. Treating it early is gentler, simpler and usually less costly than waiting.
Protects a vulnerable tooth
Reinforces a weak or cracked tooth before it breaks.
Restores comfortable chewing
Eat and speak normally again, without favouring one side.
Keeps your bite stable
Stops nearby teeth shifting into a gap and changing your bite.

Is this right for you?
A crown or bridge may suit you if…
- You have a tooth that's cracked, heavily filled or worn down
- You've had root canal treatment and the tooth needs protecting
- You're missing one or more teeth and want to fill the gap
- You find it hard to chew, or your bite feels off
- You'd prefer a fixed, natural-looking alternative to a denture

Honest about what to expect
Recovery & aftercare
Most people get back to normal straight away. A little sensitivity for a few days is normal, and going easy on very hard or sticky foods at first helps. With good brushing, flossing and regular check-ups, crowns and bridges last many years.

Questions about crowns and bridges
How long do crowns and bridges last?
Many years with good care, often well over a decade. Regular check-ups help us keep them in good shape.
Will it look natural?
Yes. We match the shape and colour to your own teeth, so most people can't tell which tooth is restored.
Does getting a crown hurt?
We numb the tooth gently first, so the appointment is comfortable. Happy gas is there if you'd like it.
Can a bridge replace more than one tooth?
Often yes, provided there are healthy teeth or implants to anchor it. We'll assess what suits you.
